As the Vice President of Production at CMSD, Steve Dykeman brings a wealth of experience and strategic oversight to the company’s core operational functions, including planning and production. With over 30 years of industry experience, Mr. Dykeman has a proven track record of driving efficiency, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless integration across all facets of the operation. Mr. Dykeman is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive plans that align with the company’s strategic goals.

Mr. Dykeman leads a dynamic team dedicated to optimizing and enhancing production workflows, while managing customer relationships to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget. His exceptional leadership skills, analytical understanding, and ability to navigate complex challenges with a solution-oriented mindset are truly inspiring. Beginning his career as a Maintenance and Ship Design Engineer, Mr. Dykeman has spent the last several decades deeply involved in the ship repair and construction industry, designing, and installing shipboard systems. Before joining CMSD, Mr. Dykeman held key leadership positions at Knight & Carver, SIPCO Marine Services, and General Dynamics NASSCO where he spearheaded numerous initiatives that resulted in significant operational efficiencies and cost savings.
Mr. Dykeman’s tenure is marked by enhancements in quality, implementation of lean initiatives, and the development of training and processes aimed at preparing the workforce for the fixed-price environment. His achievements are a testament to his adaptability and strategic thinking, qualities that reassure us of his ability to handle complex challenges. His extensive experience yields expertise in planning and analysis, dry-dock and overhaul sequencing, earned value and proposal development, forecasting, metrics, contract management, and financial and government accounting.

Dykeman earned a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the California Maritime Academy. His educational background includes advanced courses in lean manufacturing, ship vibration analysis, shaft alignment, steam plant heat balancing, welding processes, and contract law.
