NDT EXAMINER II                                                                                                   1086

Position Specifics: Continental Maritime of San Diego is seeking a qualified NDT Examiner II to help support our operations. The NDT Examiner II will manage and oversee Continental Maritime’s Welding and NDT Program to ensure compliance with NAVSEA Welding, NDT requirements, and other contractual requirements. Must be able to accomplish Internal Audit of the Welding and NDT program in compliance with Company and Customer requirements and process improvement program. Qualified individual will develop and administer NDT personnel training and certification programs. This individual will also train, examine, and certify nondestructive test (NDT) Level I and II personnel, ensuring that NDT personnel are competent and qualified to perform the applicable NDT tests in conformance with contractual requirements.
  NDT Examiner II will develop and maintain NDT, Welding procedures, and workmanship standards, while ensuring the adequacy of the program. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining Welding Workmanship and Qualification Program to ensure welders and welding operator qualifications comply with NAVSEA standards and contractual requirements, providing welding workmanship training and examination for all welders and inspectors in compliance with Company and Customer requirements, developing and maintaining Welding Procedures in compliance with NAVSEA and contractual requirements, developing welding surveillance program, and providing training to Quality and Production QCI personnel in conducting weld surveillances. Must be competent in interpreting drawings and work specifications, procedures, and other technical requirements.   Must be able to compile and prepare technical and interpretive reports relating to NDT workmanship trends such as analysis of reject rates, the resolution of problems, and the impact of methodology changes on manufacturing and inspection operations. This position will assist the Quality Assurance Manager in reporting adverse trends in relation to NDT and welding program as part of the Management Review process. This position is also responsible for writing Condition Found Reports (CFR) and Corrective Action Request for resolution of all quality discrepancies found during surveillance, NDT inspection and audit performance, as well as monitoring NDT Inspection and welding subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, while accomplishing other work as the Quality Assurance Manager may direct.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a certified Nondestructive Test Examiner (ASNT Level III or NAVSEA NDT Examiner), having fulfilled all prescribed education and experience requirements. 
Must have four years’ experience in Visual (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) Inspection Methods. 
Must have and be able to apply a demonstrated knowledge of applicable NDT techniques and methods, as well as their physical, chemical, and mathematical fundamentals.

The Lagger is responsible for measuring, cutting, and/or fabricating materials for insulation application to bulkheads, overheads, piping, ducts, machinery and equipment to reduce loss or absorption of heat, prevent moisture, condensation, and to dampen sound. PCMS certification is a preferred, but not required. Qualified individual must have a basic understanding of lagging materials layout patterns for hull boards, knowledge of ship piping systems, possess basic math skills for measuring fabrication and installation of lagging, and the ability the work from NAVSEA blueprints, specification, and NAVSEA Standard Items.

This position oversees planning, selection, and use of correct tools and materials while measuring, fabricating, and/or installing insulation according to specifications. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing  thermal fire and/or acoustical installation to bulkheads in ship compartments and passages, installing  hullboard, lagging pins, fiberglass tape, rubatex, fiberglass cloth, elastomeric foam, insulation cement, spray shields, PCMS and sound dampening tiles to ducts, machinery, bulkheads, and equipment throughout the ship, while also performing removal of non-asbestos lagging material and monitoring the use and control of lagging adhesives. 

Minimum Qualifications:
• Knowledge of ships piping systems
• Good understanding of layout patterns of lagging materials for hull board
• Ability to pass a safety test for operating man-lift, scissor-lift, and forklift.

The Sheetmetal Installer Leadman is responsible for all supervision of all employees assigned to their respected work groups. The Sheetmetal Installer Leadman is also responsible for the successful execution of a ship repair package, including the responsibility of profit and loss, and ensures all activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, budgets, and schedules. Other duties of the Sheetmetal Installer Leadman include, but are not limited to, ensuring the quality standards are adhered to by themselves as well as other employees, interpreting job orders, sketches, and/or blueprints to accomplish the installation/repair of all sheet metal tasks – I.A.W. all applicable standards and material requirements.

SHIPFITTER HELPER 1                                                                                         1114

Position Specifics: The Shipfitter Helper 1 are used to prevent and/or extinguish fires at the incipient (beginning) stage. They monitor hot work sites to ensure that conditions do not change when combustible materials cannot be effectively removed, protected, or shielded. Shipfitter Helpers also require specialized training and are assigned to minimize damage that may be caused by a fire. If a fire does occur, they take appropriate actions to protect all workers.

WAF COORDINATOR                                                                                             1128

Position Specifics: The Work Authorization Form Coordinator (WAFCOR) is responsible for the work authorization control process for all Repair Activity (RA) work being performed during the contract performance period. In addition, the WAFCOR ensures that each RA submits a properly filled out Work Authorization Form (WAF). Other responsibilities of the WAFCOR include, but are not limited to, receiving, processing, comparing, and coordinating all WAFs submitted, meeting daily with the designated representative from each RA, the Commanding Officer’s designated representative, and the Supervisor to eliminate any tag-out conflicts and to advise the Supervisor of any work authorization problems that could impact the RA’s or the ship’s work operations and testing. The WAFCOR is also responsible for showing or explaining the job description for each work authorization, assigning a tracking number, and submitting the WAF to the Commanding Officer’s designated representative, and ensuring that WAF revisions or changes are submitted and processed prior to proceeding with the work necessitating the change/revision to the WAF.

Position Specifics: Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking a Pipefitter Journeyman to support our operations. The Pipefitter Journeyman is responsible for cutting and grinding metal piping to fit various fittings, and prep various ship board piping systems for fit-up inspection IAW with MIL-STD 22D. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensures all safety signs in-shop and onboard ships are followed, ensures lay out work from blueprints, ensures grind, rip-out, and fit metal piping parts for placement on ships, and ensures set up tools and equipment at job site.

Position Specifics: Continental Maritime of San Diego is currently seeking a Pipefitter Welder Journeyman to support our operations. The Pipefitter Journeyman is responsible for welding on various piping systems onboard ships, performing ad burning pipe or penetration areas, performs and tack weld piping, and assists pipefitters in the installation of pipe. 
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be familiar with the requirements of welding high pressure piping systems
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of welding procedures and use of various types of welding equipment
• Proficient in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal welding in both arc and silver-brazing
• Must be able to complete/pass carbon-steel pipe and copper-nickel pipe test in all 6G positions
• Must be able to acquire certification to operate high reaching equipment
• The ability to acquire a DBIDS credential is required
• Must be able to work any shift
• Minimum 5-7 years of pipe welding experience is required

PIPEFITTER 4                                            1156
