J. Carlos Aguayo

President, Continental Maritime of San Diego (CMSD), A Titan Company

Carlos Aguayo is currently serving as the President of CMSD, a leading master ship repair (MSR) provider for the U.S. Navy. He was promoted to this position in 2021, following a successful tenure as Vice President and General Manager. He played a crucial part in overseeing the company’s operations and driving contract execution on existing programs. Aguayo’s journey within CMSD’s executive management began with his role as Director of Business Management and Controller, where he showcased his financial acumen and strategic thinking abilities.

As Vice President and General Manager, Aguayo’s responsibilities included executing Corporate Strategy, Program Management, Financial Reporting, Audits, Compliance, Planning, Treasury, Capital Structure, Estimating, Risk Management, and Business Development. Prior to joining CMSD’s corporate senior executive team, Aguayo was a Program Manager responsible for executing CNO availabilities from large deck amphibs to Surface Combatants. Additionally, he served as CMSD’s lead Program Manager as part of the Resource Teaming Agreement with other principal MSRs in the San Diego Harbor.

Aguayo holds a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and a master’s in business management from National University. He has obtained various credentials, including the Darden Leadership Certificate from the University of Virginia and a Lean Manufacturing Certificate from San Diego State University. Furthermore, he is actively involved in community organizations and supports local and national industry efforts. This includes holding positions in club involvement connected to local industry establishments, such as his time as Chairman and President of the San Diego Ship Repair Association and former President of the Propeller Club of San Diego.
